Me, the crazy cake lady.

I have spend the last few days with my sister, far away from my cakes and caketools, and i missed it all so much. I thought about all the projects that i want to start, or need to be finished. I love my cakes and the creative part of so much, that i drive people to the edge with it. If it was up to me, i would talk cakes a lot more as i do now (and talk about it a lot).

My sister has a steph-daugher, she almost 13 years old and is experimenting with cooking and cake decorating. So the last time we met up, i got her a few basic cake decorating tools, so that, when she was at my sisters house, she could start with her cakes.

I bought her "beginners" book about cake decorating, from cake artist Paris Cutler. The book is amazing, for beginners and children. It explains very accurate how to start a cake project, what you need as an aspiring cake artist and very clear step by step how to make a beautiful cake. Besides all this i told her, that i would save all my cake magazines and give them to her, when i am done reading them.

She was so happy, that she is still talking about it. So we met up Yesterday, and one fo the first things she said was: OMG my friends can't believe the cakes you make, they always want me to show them your new cakes. So i responded to her by saying, that is so sweet of you sweetie, how cool would it be if you can show your friends how to make a beautiful cake themselfs. She could imagine that, and her ideas start flooding out! That is what it is about, triggering peoples imagination and to let people know they can do far more then they are convinced they can, just give it a try or two.

Okay talking cakes, yeah well, again, i love to talk about everything cake decorating related. When i do i start to talk louder and very enthoustiastic, and start talking with hands hahha. People often tell me that my enthousiasm is contagous and that they (almost) want to start doing it themselves, but they think they can't do it, with the result they don't even try. Then i tell them how i started, and i am also still learning, everyday.

The funny thing is that when i talk about cakes or cake decorating, i start forming images in my head about the cake and i think about all new projects to start...a never ending circle.

My best ideas come at night, preferably around 2 am. If i do not write stuff down, it can keep me a wake for the rest of the night.

I don't think in words, but in pictures most of the time (i always had that, with school test, i would see were the answer was located in the textbook), so that means that i can see what the end result could be, when a idea comes up. The people closest to me, accept that and think it funny, but other may end up thing that i am not rigth in the head haha.

I talk about cakes so much that people start calling me the crazy cake lady. I adopted that name with a lot of proud and honor.

This is the book i got for me niece.
