When i have never done a certain cake before, i like to do, what i call a trail cake. How does the cake feel, what do i need to do to make this cake an succes.
Today i am making a barbie cake. For some weird reason, i have never made barbie cake before. Most bakers make about 15 thousand (lol) barbie cakes in a year, and i have never made one. So that is going to change. But to make it an succes, i have certain idea, i have to make a trail version first. It keeps me busy (i cant sit still, that drives me insane) and can see what the difficult spots of the cake is.
I wanted to make a cake that was that looked a bit different, yet elegant. I needs to be suitable for a little girls birthday, but i did not want it look cakey, if you know what i mean!
In general i loved making this cake, a good excuse to play with a barbie again :)
