Yeah i said it. Fake it til you make it, is my motto while cake decorating. Okay let me explain myself before you all think i am starting to say weird things. In cake decorating there is alot you cake fake. I hear you think, yeah what? Would you have said that this cake i made only feeds 10 people? Right! there we go (photo below)...
Let me tell you the secret to this "small" cake. The last two tiers are fake. They are made of styrofoam, and this is a well known methode that is used by cake artist all over the world. Brides (and grooms) get the effect of a huge cake, when in fact the cake it self is small. But do not be fooled, there goes almost same amout of time in a dummy cake as in a real cake AND if you would order this by your local cake artist, you will find that they charge you the same amount of money as for a full cake. Another thing that can easily be faked is drawing. My drawning skills are below zero, no really i can't even draw a stick figure, but in the mean time i can make a cake look like, some artist has drawn, free hand on the cake...fake! The result is amazing, it looks beautiful, but in real life i can even draw a stick figure...
