I have a couple of questions you can use when you go and see your (wedding) cake decorator:

1. When do i need to start looking for my cake? When you decide to get married, ring some local cake decorators, they can tell you when you should start looking (for real).

2. What do i need to bring to my appointment? Every cake decorator has a different view on that, so inform yourself on forhand.

3.How much is the deposit to reserve my date. Yes there is an deposit. Cake decorators need a deposit to make sure that the time the put in your wedding cake is not for nothing. A average bride and groom have no idea how much time there goes in to a wedding cake. Let me tell you, a simple 3 tier wedding cake with a couple of flowers can take up to 15 hours, and then i am talking about a simple cake.

4.How does your pricing work: this can be different at each cake artist. There are decorators who ask per person, there decorators who ask per tier. Do you have to pay extra for delivery, do you have to pay extra for sugar decorating. A very important question to ask, to prevent you from getting a suprise.

5.When will my cake be delivered: Tell you cake decorator what you time you want to cut the cake. Ask if the cake decorator will be contacting the venue about the delivery.

beside these questions, ask around what other people found important to ask and write it down.
