The nerd in me!

I am (and always have been) a major nerd. The kind of nerd that earned her self an exchange trip to Portugal, because i belonged to the top 10 students at highschool, the kind of nerd that skipt a year at Universaty, just because a could, and added a second course at uni, simply because i got bored...yeah like that. I always loved to learn more and more and more. So that is no different when it comes to the cake art. I want to learn, and i want to learn it all! Not in my own native language Dutch, no i want to learn it all English. There is a reason why, so let me explain. In my opinion, the biggest part of the cake world is English speaking. I have a lot of sweet cake decorators as my friends, and i want to communicate about all the beauty, cakes have to offer. That is one, a second reason is that i love the English language, that makes this a very good oppertunity to practice my English language skills, and not to (as my English teacher once said) "murder kings English".

Knowing a bit of English can help a lot, not only on vacation, but also in daily life. I will never forget the advice my English teacher gave me, like decennia ago ;). If you want to learn and speak a certain language, start thinking in that language. If you think in your native language, you have to translate it before talking, that just does not work very well. You see, i learnt something in school!
