Today was a day that i realized how proud i am to do what i do. Somebody gave me such an nice compliment on my instagram account (https://instagram.com/blueeyedcakegirl/ ) and that did the trick. Somebody told me to be totally inspired by my cake art. I realized that makes me the artist that i want to be. If my art can make just one other person believe in what he or she does, then my mission is accomplished. I love all the cake decorating trends, the wedding trends, birthday trends but that does not mean i follow them. Either i let my heart decide what i make, or give that certain trend my own label. That happens wether i want i or not, because i just suck at copying things. When i just started out, i hated that, that work did not matched up to other artists work, but after a little while i discoverd that excatly that is what makes my work stands apart. Absolutely not saying that my work is better, because that is just not true. It is not better or worse, just different.
I made an tattoo style wedding cake, i wanted the wedding cake have a certain style. I can try copying, i can try, but that leaves me frustrated and the cake probaly will end up in the bin (yep, been there many times). So ended up listening to that little voice in my head, my cake guidance,
You can like the cake or not, but it my cake, my style....
